I love BBQs and I really enjoy the ones where everyone brings something.
Drew and I recently went to a house warming BBQ and it was a BYOA (bring your own appy). We were going to be out most the day prior to the BBQ and out of town. So I visited Pintrest to see what peaked my interest… I was sadly disappointed. As I was putting some toothpicks in an avocado pit I had an idea! Toothpick appies, simple and delicious.
I wanted something simple, yet delicious.
Here is the tasty appetizer that was the lucky winner!
What you will need:
- a delicious meat – I used Calabrese
- cheese – as long as it doesn’t crumble, you’re good
There are many, many different variations of this you could do. Let your imagination flow!
- Cut up the asparagus and to prevent it from splitting less, throw it in the microwave for a couple seconds.
Burgers these days are getting to be HUGE. My daughter and I could slip a burger and there still be some left over and I hate wasting food.
For Mother’s Day we had a BBQ, we had burgers and little sliders (my Mum made them). I wanted to try them at home, but she never keeps recipes for long. I stumbled across this Turkey Sliders recipe on Savvymom.ca. These are perfect size portions for my daughter or any toddle really.
