Each year we take the kid, now kids, to the Santa’s Anonymous tree. We pick off tags and Scarlett has a very specific method. She picks tags off the tree based on the colouring skills. Pretty colours. Patterns. The mind of a two year old is an interesting place. This year she got to pick two tags, one for her and one for Logan.
After Scarlett spent a solid 15 minutes looking over every tag, using her specific method of colours and patterns, finally we got two tags and off shopping we went.
I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say because of you, I didn’t give up — Anonymous
My Mum has always been there for me. Even when I thought I couldn’t go to her with something. I kissed a boy. I broke up with someone. I didn’t break up with someone. I wanted to quit my job. She was always there. Always.
The comfort I took in knowing that I could go to her with about 99% of my problems was/is my security blanket. Let’s face it, I still call my Mum when I have a problem.
Bubble, bubble, bubble!
Guppy, guppy, guppies!
Last week I wrote about how stressed out I was about receiving only 55% of my income while on maternity leave. I did a little research, I am a curious person, I wanted to know what other countries received, if anything for maternity leave. Here’s what I found. I was blown away.
I was picking up my daughter from daycare one afternoon. It had been a particularly challenging day at work. Emotions flying high. Discomfort. All I wanted to do was sit on my butt for 20 minutes, but I knew I had to go home and get dinner started and tidy from the night before and laundry needed to be put away before bedtime.
My daughter and her best friend were in a very giggly mood, which tends to rub off on me. It was the same today. They made me smile but that acted as more encouragement for them to continue to be kids and be happy and goofy.
Time came to get in the car seat.
Dora, Dora, Dora the explore!
It’s always fun to try new experiences and trying them with your children, I’ve never had so much fun! My friend won Dora the Explore LIVE tickets. The text went something like this
Katie: We’re going to DORA!
Me: Lucky you! Have fun!
Katie: No, like you and I we!
Me: YIPPY!!!!! Are the kids coming?!
