I think I need to take a break from writing a little more often. This week I have written on so many pieces of scrap paper, recorded ‘blog thoughts’ (I just discovered my phone has this app called Voice Recorder. Bet you can’t guess what it does! It records your voice! Cool eh!). I have had so many ideas, and stories that I want to share with you all. I’m feeling pretty creative lately.
I had a nice little number lined up for you party people this morning, but life happened last night and I thought I would share with you. It has a happy ending!
SCORE ONE FOR MUM!!!
I found that I had a moment to myself in the mall. I know weird right!? But the stars aligned and I was alone. OK, maybe I wandered off while Scarlett was playing at the indoor structure with her Dad. None the less. I had a mini vacation going on, so I wandered into the book store.
I wasn’t looking for anything in particular but as I was perusing (that’s fancy for looking) the shelves at the bookstore I found an interesting book for Scarlett. Fancy Nancy. Scarlett loves books. She sits a if she is interested enough, will spend up to an hour!!!! reading it herself.
Do you ever have those days where you are just tongue twisted all day. You are either talking too fast, then everything is coming out wrong. Twisted. Sometimes the ‘words’ you are saying, aren’t really even words. I was having one of those days this week. I would even get up to go and do something, and no idea why I stood up. Then I ‘lost’ my husbands keys. I looked in the usual places, then I found them still in the door.
In this crazy, upside down, full of giggles house of ours we read a lot of different books. A lot!
I came from a background of princess in paper bags, to a family of Bears from Bear Country, and you don’t want to know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie…
Then my husband came from the world of Dr. Seuss!
When I first started feeding Scarlett solids, it was a start to a very messy adventure. This girl has an appetite! She loves to eat. She loves food. YAY!!!! After a month or so of puree foods, she wasn’t showing as much interest in what I was feeding her and more in what was on my plate. Now being a new Mum, I thought OK babies don’t have teeth so they can only have pureed food. Oh how wrong I was.
I’d like to make it clear that I am not an expert on the topic but I am a fan! Baby Led Weaning! Has your baby ever chopped down on your finger? Even without teeth, those little baby gums are hard. I started giving Scarlett things that I was eating, seeing if she liked it. With the meat, she would just suck on it at first. For example, steak. Oh she loved steak, she didn’t ‘chew’ or even bit it, just sucked on it. Now chicken she loved and actually ate the chicken.
