A family that runs together, stays together!
I don’t remember my first race. I don’t remember if it was in elementary school, middle school or before my memory started to actually log all my memories. All I know is that I love it.
Last weekend, the whole family did a run. Drew did 10 k and I ran 5k with the double stroller. Scarlett did her first race – 250m!
OH MY WORD!!!!! I was one proud Mama. I shed a couple tears of sheer joy! She did so good. She had so much fun. Her little legs were just going, arms were just pumping. Such determination. “Mommy, I DID IT! I DID IT!” She rocked every single step.
Yes, I was that Mum, jumping up and down cheering. Making an embarrassing scene, and I didn’t care. I was so proud of her.
That was the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced as a Mother. The pride and joy coming from my daughter, how proud she was of herself. Another moment where I feel like I know what I’m doing with this whole parenting gig.
I am constantly wondering if I am doing a good job, if I’m doing this whole parenting thing right. The choices I’ve made, the choices I will have to make. Then as a parent you get these moments, you get these picture perfect moments that you know you are going to remember forever.
