[REVIEW] Mess Free Fun You Say! #Crayola

Anything that can hold my daughter’s attention longer than 5 minutes has my attention too. I don’t know about you but my daughter tries to do everything she can get her hand on in a 30 minute span. Blocks. Dolls. TV. Dancing. Spilling Cheerios in the chair. Move the dog toys 6 times. Books.

I love that there are so many products on the market to entertain kids. However, I hate how you have to purchase them all individually and they can be so bloody expensive. If you spend the money and your kids hate it, you’re sometimes out $100.

I am a creative person. I like to draw, colour and make things. My daughter does as well. She loves to colour. Give her an easel and a blank sheet of paper, and she will fill the piece of paper, front and back. If I try to take it away and she isn’t done (according to her), she will let me know. We have lots of colouring books, pencil crayons, regular crayons, etc. But the one thing that can and does hold her attention is the  Crayola Mess Free Color Wonder markers and books.

Scarlett is 2 an half. She loves her ‘colouring markers’. The Mess Free colouring system has special felt pens and special paper. She can’t colour on anything but the specific pages that are for the Color Wonder felts, which as a parent is a huge win. She is pretty good about not colouring on walls, tables, etc but I’m sure that day will come. I’m waiting to walk down the halls and see blue and orange circles on the walls.

I am always a little skeptical about what the box claims the products are suppose to do or not do. Lets see if Crayola is true to there word.

  • Color Wonder claims that the felts won’t colour on clothes – TRUE
  • Color Wonder claims that the felts won’t colour on skin – TRUE
  • Color Wonder claims that the felts won’t colour on fabric – TRUE

My husband and I both have tattoos, we have caught my daughter on a few occasions colouring herself so she can be like Mommy and Daddy. I’m very impressed that the felts hold true to NOT colouring on skin. The bittersweet thing I suppose about using mess free colouring markers is that they only work on the special colouring pages.

Scarlett has the Minnie Mouse and Dora the Explore colouring pads. These are a great, great gift for kids as young as 2 years old, in my option.

Price point is affordable, a huge plus in my books.

The colouring books that we have, have lasted us months because it takes her so long to completely colour one page. She doesn’t start a new one until the first one is done. She is very smart that way. When she is colouring a page and a ‘secret’ picture appears, she gets so excited. “LOOK MOMMY LOOK!!!!!”

With Christmas just around the corner, yup CHRISTMAS, this could be a great affordable gift for the wee one in your life. If you are ever looking for a gift for a toddler, this is sure to be a hit. I highly recommend this product.

xoxo Ashley
