My husband and I are firm believes for being healthy fit than extremely fit. I, personally, want to make sure my body lasts until I am old and grey. I don’t want to be in a wheelchair, use a walker, or a motorized scooter. I want to be around for my kids at what ever age.

What do you do to stay healthy? Go for walks? Eat fruits and veggies?

  1. I really enjoy smoothies in the morning. Fruit smoothies with some spinach or another veggie added in, then I eat some sort of protein (I usually can’t stomach eggs so I eat something else like chicken/salmon/veggie protein source). “Cheat meals” are the hardest thing for me, I keep cheating on those! Supposed to be once a week but I keep breaking that rule. I go for 2 walks every day at least, 10 to 15 minutes a piece minimum. Then I’m adding back in to my day some yoga for 15 to 30 minutes as well as moderate to heavy intensity cardio on my exercise bike, belly dancing, DDP Yoga, or whatever I want for another 30 minutes (I will alternate between this and strength training during the week). I am not 100% where I should be because I have lost some discipline and motivation, but I have come a long way from what I used to do which is eating a lot of junk and stopped exercising for the longest time. I am a lot more mentally healthy. Getting to that point took up a lot of my physical energy which sounds odd but it is exhausting to change habits, getting rid of negative thoughts and people, etc.! Big improvements there which will help me get more physically healthy.

    • I am a big fan of smoothie in the morning too. I work really early and don’t like eating to early, smoothie are a life saver.

      I usually have ‘cheat meals’ on the weekends, I’m all out of routine.

      It’s tough to be good all the time, I think it’s unrealistic (in my option). It doesn’t all happen over night, it’s baby steps. Changing habits are hard and takes a lot of time.
