When Scarlett was old enough to be enrolled into swimming lesson, her Dad and I did it. It is a skill that many people take for granted. I have family members that don’t know how to swim and then there is Drew and I who taught lessons in our youth.
We are very fortunate to live in an area that has a lot of rivers and lakes that are clean enough for us to swim in. We are a 10 minute drive from beautiful lake which is one of our favorite spots in the summer time. I didn’t want her to be afraid of water. Who knows maybe she will be an Olympic swimmer!?
So once a week, Drew and I take turns taking her to swimming lessons. Oh my goodness, the fun we can fit into a 30 minute period is unbelievable. She LOVES it! She has started to kick and move her arms now while I hold her on her belly. She has a big ol’ smile on her face.
Even with the kiddy pool we have in our yard, she will sit in the pool and put her face in the water and just splash! She loves it! I’m very happy she is at this level of comfort in the water already. Put my mind at ease.
